Timmy here is being carried away by airport police for refusing to take his shoes off at the body scan. Maybe TSA should be more lenient when dealing with 'tards.

These high school students seem to be really interested in whatever Dubya is spitting out. I guess if they were paying attention they'd tell their parents not to vote for him.

100% fresh, never frozen, dog. Goddamn Chinese.

P.S. - I'm not a comedian.

"Cool Video"

I think the video was awwright. The footage was interesting. I would like to see less of sports and more of students in their everyday routines. It's more interesting to me, and to everyone I think, because we all have certain things we do at school every day. I think the person who made the video could make the clip transitions smoother or more visually appealing.

HDR Photography warm up

1. What do you have to do on the camera to make this type of photo?

You have to take photos of the same subject at different shutter speeds and then combine them in photoshop.

2. Look up a Canon T3 on google and tell me if it has the ability to shoot bracketed photos?

Hell yeah, nigga.

3. Is there a place on campus we could take a series of photos like this?

 The courtyard.

4. Do a google image search for HDR photos and find your favorite, post it on your blog, tell me why you picked that photo and then tell me what techniques (rules of photography) the photographer used

I picked this photo because the colors of the sunset stand out to me. The photographer uses rule of thirds, lines, and framing.

HDR Photography

The photographer uses rule of thirds and framing.

1. What theme that we could take here at school could we do a series of these panels to place around the school?

I think most students would be interested in fashion or sports.

2. Should we use phones only, or should we open it up to our regular cameras for those people that don't have camera phones?

I think cameras would be best because the photo quality is better.

3. Where would you want to put the mural on campus?

By the main office or outside by the cafeteria.

Great Black and White Photographers, part 3

1. Josef Koudelka's photographs caught my eye because of they way they are framed. He has a way of getting anything balanced in a specific frame and making it work. His photos are of Europe in the mid-20th century which appeals to me as well.

I see an empty road. The grass is swaying gently and the leaves on the trees are shaking. I smell burning wood and a dead animal. I hear the wind blowing. The grass and the leaves are making a quiet, steady noise. I taste the cold air as I breathe in. The flavor of my gum is fading. Haha. My nose is burning in the cold. The freezing gusts of wind are cutting through my coat, making me shiver.

I see the anticipation on these people's faces. Some of them seem more nervous than others, some just bored. I smell car exhaust and cigarette smoke. I smell some food from a nearby restaraunt. I hear this crowd of people talking all at once. Some of it I can understand, some of it seems to be in another language. I taste the clove cigarette a man just offered me. It mixes with the cold air to make my mouth tingle. Why do people smoke this shit? I feel the rumbling of tanks and the heat of all the people grouped together. I can almost feel what they're feeling.

3. I would like to either make a blog/website, or some kind of slideshow to showcase Koudelka's work.

Fixed photo shoot Reflection

1. What did you learn about the camera when you took these photos?

I learned how to change the F-stop, ISO, and shutter speed.

2. What do you notice about all the photos and the way they look?

They go from brighter to darker.

3. Can you tell the difference between each ISO? Explain how.

Yes. Higher ISO's tend to have more bright pictures than lower ISOs.

4. What does this tell you about ISOs and what it does when you change it when you take pictures.

ISO changes how much light the camera lets in, which affects the brightness of each picture.

5. What about focus? Can you see a difference in the photos? Tell me what differences and similarities you see.

The focus seems pretty similar to me. The background goes out of focus a little bit as the f-stop gets higher.

6. Post the best photo you took on your blog. Make sure to label the following things: ISO, Shutter Speed, F-stop, Distance, Focal Length, Lighting.

 ISO 800, 1/100th sec, F8, 6 ft, 18mm, outdoor shade.

7. What do you need to concentrate on when you go out to shoot next time when you have to shoot in Manual setting?

Shutter speed and F-stop.

Sim Cam

Exposure:

f2.8 - looks best at 1/250
f4 - looks best at 1/125
f5.6 - looks best at 1/60
f8 - looks best at 1/60
f11 - looks best at 1/60
f16 - looks best at 1/30
f22 - looks best at 1/15

Background:

f2.8 - no background
f4 - background is very blurry
f5.6 - background is still blurry
f8 - background is blurry
f11 - background is a little blurry
f16 - background is a little blurry
f22 - background is pretty sharp

The people are blurry at low shutter speeds. The photographer can prevent this by holding the camera still or by using a tripod. The lowest shutter speed to hold the camera at and still get a good picture would be 1/15.
